WHAT DOES THE MOUNTAIN CARE by Tim Hudson
A digital presentation in which Tim takes us on a trek to Mt Everest before it became a tourist trail – a chance to see some of the highest mountains in the world and the wonderful mountain peoples of Nepal. See www.photrek.co.uk

1st MEMBERS’ EVENING
A non-competitive evening when we endeavour to create an informal atmosphere in which members both new and old can show a selection of their recent work. Prints or digital can be shown along with Audi Visuals (although don’t forget the Audio Visual night in December) so bring along some of your own images – perhaps a maximum of 12 – and spend a few minutes entertaining us. Ideas are welcomed for the format of future members evenings and we shall be canvassing members’ opinions during the season.

PICTURES TO EXE DEMOS – HOW TO PRODUCE AV SEQUENCES by Rod Gunn LRPS
Many of our members have been asking about producing AV shows (ie images set to music) so Rod is traveling down from Doncaster to show us how using Pictures To Exe software. Good groundwork for our AV Evening in December. See www.wnsoft.com for more information on Pictures To Exe.

DOUBLE EXPOSURE by Guy & Paula Davies FRPS EFIAP PPSA from Stokesley nr Middlesborough
A print lecture from this well known couple who are sponsored by Permajet and their images are printed on a variety of Permajet papers to illustrate their qualities. Paula & Guy go on photographic holidays around the world and often stand close together when taking photographs but they rarely produce similar images. In the first half Gillian will show us slides of various Moroccan locations followed in the second half by her nationally and internationally acclaimed prints produced from slides. A winning combination.

A DIGITAL LANE by Mike Lane FRPS
A top nature photographer from Solihull, Mike's presentation shows us images taken from his first two years with a digital camera, photographing wildlife in various places around the globe. Starting with black grouse in Scotland, the show moves into Finland for brown bears and diving ospreys and then to some amazing drinking pools for birds in Hungary.

NIGHT & LOW LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY by Tony Worobiec FRPS
Originally from the North East but now based in Dorset, this well-known and popular lecturer is visiting several Clubs in the area and we are lucky enough to be one of them. An inspirational evening when you will be able to see that lowlight photography offers wonderful rewards and the opportunity to obtain stunningly beautiful images.

AUDIO VISUAL COMPETITION – Judged by the audience
This competition has become very popular over the past couple of years so this is your chance to submit a short sequence of digital images either set to music or with voice-over or sound effects. All we ask is that the entry be anonymous and lasts as an absolute maximum 5 minutes. 3 or 4 minutes is preferable. 2 entries are allowed but owing to the popularity of this evening please indicate which show is your first choice as it may be that there will only be time to show one. All entries must be with the Competition Secretary by the end of the weekend so that a scoresheet can be prepared. There’s no prize, it’s just for fun.

IMAGINATIONS by Graham Heywood EFIAP/g ABPE DPAGB
Graham is well known locally and nationally both for his creative images and for his sporting photographs. This digital presentation aims to contain something for everyone, even unusual suggestions for days out. It includes many of the images from Graham’s EFIAP gold award as well as ways of covering the cost of image taking. A decidedly different combination from this entertaining local speaker. A fun evening when we hold our Christmas buffet – Iris & Eunice will be circulating amongst you asking you to contribute to the food – after we’ve held the digital image matching competition. Hopefully you will remember the idea from last year and provide some images in plenty of time.

A presentation by our competition secretary and his wife. Derek is determined to show us that he can take good photographs so he’s got nearly a year to try and find some. Iris of course will spend the year deciding which ones to leave out. A fun evening of mainly digital images but they will bring along some prints as well.

NEMPF PROJECTED IMAGE SHOW
The annual first class presentation in Audio Visual format of the North East Midland Federation accepted digital images in their Exhibition. Beeston normally does very well in this Exhibition so let us hope that this year is no exception. Entries have to be made earlier in the season so do make sure you get your images ready in plenty of time.

MEMBERS FROM THE MIDDLE
We had the noisy boys at the back, then the quiet boys at the front so this year we’ve gone for gentle people in the middle. We’ve asked Lewis Stainer and Simon Wilkinson to show us some of their images along with Celia Clayton so it will make for a varied and entertaining evening.

Colour prints and conversation from the President of the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union whom we have persuaded to travel down from Oldham to delight us with her images and talk. She was also one of the judges at NEMPF in 2009. See www.christinewiddall.co.uk.

THE HILDA THURMAN PRINT COMPETITION
A competition for prints only (mono or colour) which is judged by you the audience. All we ask is that you produce a new print that has not been shown in competition previously, the only other proviso being that it should not have been digitally manipulated beyond basic levels and curves - so no composites please. This competition is in memory of much loved member Hilda whose daughter Glenis remains a member. The Thurman family are responsible for donating to the Club the wonderful glass trophy which is presented to the winner. After the Competition there will be a buffet to end the season with food provided by members.

Your chance to have your say in Club affairs. Don’t forget we need a Committee that is representational of Club members so that means some of you younger members coming forward as well as females. We want to continue to be a successful Club and can only do this by meeting the needs of our members.

THE PRESIDENT'S EVENING
Unfortunately our new President Jamie MacArthur can’t be with us on the opening night for which he apologises but we have asked Dave Severn to organize an hour of entertainment for us so we can be sure that we shall be in safe hands. Following the presentation there will be a buffet organized as usual by Eunice and Iris so you can re-aquaint with old friends or speak to new ones.
