Nation Print Championship at Connahs Quay

Beeston Camera Club qualified to represent NEMPF at the Nation Print Championship at Connahs Quay by finishing second to Derby City in the NEMPF Knockout. Beeston member Jacqui Jay Grafton was the only person on the night to score 15 points and won the individual award for the Best Print of the night for her Meerkats In Snow. The National Championships will take place on Saturday 26th October.

TRAFFIC CHANGES IN BEESTON

A further reminder that new traffic regulations in Beeston come into effect from Monday 25th March 2013.

The main points to remember are that Dovecote Lane will become one way towards Queens Road, Middle Street from Station Road  will become one way towards Nottingham (past the new Tesco) and Middle Street from station Road will become one way towards Chilwell (by the White Lion). Middle Street from the top of Dovecote Lane to Devonshire Avenue will be two way. Chilwell Road Beeston will be closed from The Police Station to Ellis Grove for approx 6 months.

Heritage Open Day

A further reminder that we shall be holding an exhibition of prints of Beeston at Barton's Garage on the weekend 8th and 9th of September so get snapping over the summer. Printing can be arranged if you don't have direct access. We shall also show some images on the club laptop. Contact Derek Martin when you have something.

Annual Library Exhibition 2012

Club Members Only

Venue: Beeston Library from Thursday 1st March to Friday 30th March 2012

This is a PRINT ONLY exhibition. This is a reminder to all members to think about their entries, because it is an opportunity for your work to be seen by the public. The categories are Monochrome, Colour, Natural History.


There will be awards for each category, plus a limited number of “Certificate of Merit” and “Highly Commended”. In addition, awards will be given for the “Most Creative” and the “Millennium Bowl” the Mayor’s personal choice.


The Maximum Mount size is 40cm x 50cm. Entries are limited to a maximum of 4 prints at £1.00 per entry numbered in order of preference. All entries must bear a Title and the name of the entrant. A mixture of prints is allowed.


Entry forms will be available on Club Nights in December and via email. Entries, plus entry form, together with the full entry fee should be handed to Mike Leatherland, library exhibition secretary on the 5th January 2012 Club Night.


The Presentation of Awards will be made by The Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe 2011/12. Councillor Jacky Williams. On Saturday 3rd March 2012 at 11.00am. at the Beeston Library.

Held at Sileby Community Centre, High Street, Sileby Free parking behind Teso entrance on the High Street.

New Website features
  1. New larger image size (1,200 pixels wide for landscape or 1,000 high for portrate) in addition to the 'standard' 700 wide size. The larger size can be viewed by clicking the 'Magnify' button.
  2. Logged in members may add comments on other member's photos. Comments are only viewable by logged in users (not general public).
  3. Logged in members can also add news items. Log in then go to the news page and click 'Add' in the top right corner.

EAC Photographic Award 2010
The Elderly Accommodation Counsel invites amateur photographers who are over the age of 60 years to enter our first photographic competition. There is no entry fee and the deadline for entries is 31 October 2010. We are looking for entries which depict older people in a positive light within the themes of:

  • Happiness
  • Peace, perfect peace

NEMPF weekend at Lincoln
NEMPF weekend coming up at Lincoln on April 9th, 10th and 11th 2010, details available from Eric Miller. The weekend is designed so that you can attend at any time from part of a day to the whole weekend and includes workshops and demonstrations.
