The club holds a number of internal competitions each season.
Print Competitions
Colour Prints
The winner is decided over four rounds during the year. A member may enter two prints in each round. The higher scoring print in each of the three rounds are totalled to decide on an overall winner. Rules.
2008/9 dates are 2nd October, 27th November, 22nd January and 2nd April.
Black and White Prints
The winner is decided over four rounds during the year. A member may enter two prints in each round. The higher scoring print in each of the three rounds are totalled to decide on an overall winner. Rules.

Projected Image Competitions
Slides
The winner is decided over four rounds during the year. A member may enter two slides in each round. The higher scoring slide in each of the three rounds are totalled to decide on an overall winner. Rules.

Digital
The winner is decided over four rounds during the year. A member may enter two images in each round. The higher scoring image in each of the three rounds are totalled to decide on an overall winner. Rules.

Other Competitions
One Roll
An hisoric competition in which the author shoots 24 consecutive frames of slide film on a theme. The author does not then see his/her slides until the night of the competition when they are judged frame by frame by one judge for technical merit, and by another judge for overall entertainment value. Rules/guidance.
2008/9 date is 6th November.
Best of Beeston
Enter prints and/or slides on four out of six themes. The print and slide winners are the ones with the highest aggregate score. Rules.
2008/9 themes are:- Animals, Body Parts, Glass, Street Furniture, Flowers, Enjoyment.
Competition date is 12th March. 2006/7 Results - 2007/8 ResultsTheme Competition
One entry allowed in each of the four sections; colour print, blackand white print, slide and digital. Each on a theme. This comprises the final part of the Print and Projected Image competitions above.
2008/9 theme is:- 'Relaxation'. Competition date is 2nd April.
The Hilda Thurman Competition
This new Competition was started in 2009 as a tribute to a much loved member of the Club, Hilda Thurman who passed away in 2007. The Thurman family donated an award to be presented each year as the prize in a competition judged by the audience. Rules.
Competition date is 23rd April. 2007/8 Results
